The Chancellor of the Gregory University, Uturu – Prof. Greg Ibe has been commended for his pioneering role in complementing the efforts of Government by establishing a privately owned state of the Art University in the South East of the country and granting scholarship to university undergraduates in the state.
The Abia North Zonal Executive members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by its Zonal Chairman- Elder Amah Abraham made the commendation when they paid a courtesy visit on the Proprietor of the University in Uturu, stating that Prof. Ibe has written his name in gold through the University as well as the Provision of substantial palliative materials to Residents of the state to cushion the negative effect of covid-19 and his support that assisted the party in its successful state congress held recently.
IGBERE TV reports that the Abia North PDP Executive Committee called on Prof. Greg Ibe to sustain his support for the party towards resolving the interest of the 14 chairmanship Aspirants in Isuikwuato for the forthcoming Local Government elections, reconciliation of aggrieved members and return of individuals that left the party for the opposition ones to return to the PDP fold since the party has repositioned itself to win all future elections at all levels of Government.
Responding, Prof. Greg Ibe said that the Establishment of the Gregory University, granting of scholarship to students, the gift of palliative materials among other things were part of his social responsibilities to God and humanity and promised to assist the Abia North Zonal office of the Party with some logistics and keep promoting the interest of the PDP generally under the able leadership of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in the State.
All members of the Abia North Zonal Executive of the PDP included some members of the state working committee such as the State Secretary – Barr. David Iro, the State Publicity Secretary – Hon. (Chief) Fabian Nwankwo, the state woman leader – Lolo Christy Emenike, the Auditor – Chief Gabriel Okereke Elendu and others from the Abia North extraction graced the occasion.
