Gunmen Kidnap APC Chairman In Zamfara, Demand N10m Ransom

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have kidnapped the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gamji ward of Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Sani Dangwaggo Bakuru.

IgbereTV reports that the gunmen stormed his residence at Gamji community, in Bakura, during a downpour on Tuesday night, October 6, around 11:00 p.m and whisked him away to an unknown destination.

Shehu Isa, state publicity secretary for APC in Zamfara, Shehu Isa, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday morning, said the kidnappers had contacted the relatives of the captive, demanding N10 million ransom.

Also confirming the incident, spokesperson for the State Police Command, Muhammad Shehu, explained that the abductee was also a representative of the district head of Gamji.

Mr Shehu said security personnel had been mobilised to trail the fleeing suspects to ensure the unconditional release of the captive soon.
