Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, Wednesday night visited his Akwa Ibom State counterpart, Dr. Udom Emmanuel, at the Akwa Ibom Government House, in Uyo.

Governor Obaseki, who said he remains grateful to Gov Udom, described his victory in the election as a unifying factor for the South-South region of Nigeria.

On his part, Governor Udom Emmanuel said with the “reclaiming” of Edo State by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the South South zone was now “more united.”

Earlier, Governor Obaseki was at the Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers States Government House to thank Governors Ifeanyi Okowa, Douye Diri and Nyesom Wike for the roles they played in his electoral victory.

Obaseki was accompanied by his wife, his deputy, Philip Shuaibu, his wife, PDP National Vice Chairman (South-South), Chief Dan Orbih, Senators and Rep members from the state, top government functionaries and party chieftains among others.
