Akwa Ibom State-owned Ibom Air, has commenced daily flight operations into Enugu State, Southeastern Nigeria.
This was on Monday as the Enugu State Governor, Rt. Hon. Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, inaugurated the Airline’s operations in the State.
This is coming following the resumption of flight operations in the country, after months of stoppage due to COVID-19.
Igbere TV reports that the event took place at the newly-upgraded Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, in Enugu state.
The Governor was represented by his deputy, Hon. (Mrs.) Cecilia Ezeilo, at an event which also witnessed the traditional “water salute”.
Others at the event include the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Greg Nnaji, his information counterpart, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, the Enugu Airport Manager, Mrs. Cecilia Oguama, and the Chief Operating Officer, Ibom Air, George E. Uriesi.
With the inauguration of the Airline’s operation in the State, Igbere TV gathered that Ibom Air will now fly into Enugu daily from Lagos and Abuja.
Igbere TV had in August reported how Ibom Air was planning to lunch the Enugu route, in addition to the existing Southeastern routes.
This informed of its recent novel partnership deal with the popular online medium, on its in-flight magazine, The Fulcrum.
Ibom Air started with few routes in Nigeria, including Uyo to Abuja, Uyo to Lagos, Abuja to Uyo, Lagos to Uyo and increased it to include Lagos to Abuja and Abuja to Lagos.
