Former Agric Commissioner Emerges APC Candidate For Imo By-Election

A former Imo state commissioner for Agriculture, Frank Ibezim, on Thursday, emerged the Imo North All Progressives Congress candidate for the October 31 senatorial by-elections.

This was disclosed by Senate Spokesman, Senator Ajibola Basiru, who is chairman of the APC Primaries Committee. He said the election took place in 68 wards across the six local councils of the district.

Ibezim, who hails from Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, is an ally and aide to the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba.

Igbere TV reports that the primary election conducted was to enable the party pick its candidate after the death of the Senator who represented the district, Ben Uwajumogu on December 18, 2019.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), will conduct concurrent legislative by-elections on October 31 to fill various legislative seats left vacant.
