IgbereTV reports that three suspected kidnappers were killed by members of a vigilante group during an ambush launched against them by members of a vigilante group in Yobe state.
Dungus Abdulkarim, the Yobe State Police spokesperson, who confirmed the incident said the suspects were killed on Sunday August 30.
It was gathered that the vigilante group launched a counter attack against the suspected kidnappers after the kidnappers stormed Dungurum community in Murfa Kalam village, where they kidnapped one person.
While three of the suspects were killed, three others were apprehended and handed over to the Nigerian Army.
Abdulkarim said:
“It was this morning (Sunday) we received information about an attack on a community under Murfa Kalam village where three suspected kidnappers were killed following an ambush by a vigilante group.
“Presently, the corpses have been deposited at a morgue in the Specialist Hospital in Damaturu while investigations are ongoing.”
