Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Sept. 19 Edo Governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, on Saturday, took the Local Government to Local Government rally to Oredo local council area.
Igbere TV reports that the rally held at the University of Benin football open pitch, Ekehuan campus located along Ekehuan road, in Benin City.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Ize-Iyamu listed what he calls “the sins” of Governor Obaseki against Oredo in particular and Edo State in general which he said disqualifies him(Obaseki) from seeking re-election.
According to him, Governor Obaseki made many promises he did not fulfil.
After an introduction of his running mate, Mallam Gani Audu and his manifesto, Simple Agenda, the APC candidate said with “the sins”, even against the people of his local government of origin, Oredo, Obaseki should be rejected by the people voting APC.
Among “the sins” he said is “Preventing the two elected members namely Messrs Uyi Ekhosuehi and Chris Okaeben from representating Oredo constituency and the members elected for Egor, Ovia Southwest and Ovia Northeast and Uhunmwonde, all in Edo South, at the Edo Assembly”.
“He stopped the Comrade Bus which helped men, women and children to move about because he hates Oshiomhole. He stopped Street lights; the roads he built were done by SEEFOR and the World Bank as he gave the Central Hospital Oshiomhole built to a private concern who has made it unaffordable to Edo people”.
He added that, “Oredo is the largest local government area in Edo state which Obaseki claims as his LGA of origin, yet not one Oredo citizen was employed under his 200,000 jobs promise; he failed to rebuild or give N100million to assist traders after Ekiosa was gutted by fire and denied farmers the benefit of the N5.6billion CBN agric loan”.
According to the APC candidate, “Edo cannot continue to have a wicked governor who has no plan for the state”, adding that as the candidate of the APC he has a manifesto called Simple Agenda which he will implement when he takes office as Governor.
Igbere TV reports that the Oredo APC rally was the last stop of the party’s statewide campaign rally which lasted six days and held in all of the 18 local government areas of the state beginning with Igueben in Edo Central.
