NANS PLANNED PROTEST: RIVERS STATE POLICE COMMAND ISSUE TREAT.

Against the backdrop of the NANS ZONE B protest against the looting and financial misappropriation in the Niger Delta Development Commission as detailed in the Communique issued on the 23rd of July after a comprehensive stakeholders meeting in Port Harcourt, the Nigerian Police, Rivers State Command has issued a treat to call off the protest.

We want to notify the public and state the following÷
1. As Nigerian students of the Niger Delta origin, we have the constitutional right to a peaceful protest against any wrong act as it has to do with the region.

2. The welfare of our students sent out to study abroad has been jeopardized and compromised and the funds allocated for the purpose has been looted by some very greedy individuals and such act must be given stiff resistance.

3. The development of the Niger Delta region is of utmost concern to us as we are all stakeholders of the region and any thing detrimental to it’s development will also get a stiff resistance from the students community.

From the points stated above, we seek the support of all concerned with the development of the Niger Delta to give us the needed support to achieve a peaceful protest and that includes all security agencies especially the Rivers State Command of the Nigerian Police.
Any thing other than than will be resisted as no amount of treats from any quater can stop us.
THE PROTEST MUST HOLD AT THE EXPIRATION OF THE 14 DAYS ULTIMATUM AND MOBILISATION IS ONGOING.
