The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has recalled some officers attached to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Igbere TV reliably gathered that about 20 zonal and sectional heads were affected by the recall.
They have been asked to report to force headquarters in Abuja, from where they are expected to be given new assignments.
The latest development is coming following the suspension of former acting chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, who is currently under probe.
The move by the police hierarchy, Igbere TV gathered, is to rid the anti-graft agency of those suspected to have close ties to Magu.
Some of the affected officers have spent a number of years at the EFCC.
Adamu had ordered the withdrawal of policemen attached to Magu shortly after the probe into the EFCC began.
About 12 directors at the commission have been suspended indefinitely, including the EFCC secretary, Olanipekun Olukoyed.
Some of them had handled the investigation of corruption allegations against Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, who is playing a key role in the EFCC probe.
Igbere TV reports that Mohammed Umar, the director of operations of the EFCC, now acts as the chairman pending the outcome of the probe.
