Hon. Martins Oniha, Special Assistant on Legislative Matters to Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Frank Okiye, has resigned his appointment.
Igbere TV reports that Hon. Oniha from Ward 4 Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo state, tendered his resignation on Monday.
In a letter made available to Igbere TV, on Monday, in Benin City, Oniha said, he was resigning “due to conflicting political interest (with the Edo Assembly speaker).”
He said being a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he has chosen to remain with the Party and deliver his candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the Edo Governorship election.
The resignation of Okiye’s legislative aide is coming days after the Speaker decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP alongside the Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
