Why The Fight Against Corruption In Nigeria Is Not Yielding Fruits
Nigerians have always blamed the people in power and authority for the corruption which has been existing in Nigeria for decades.
But the truth of the matter is that the common man starts and sustains corruption in Nigeria, as can be seen in this very simple scenario given below by IgbereTV.
A school headmistress visits a photographer to know how much she will be charged to get a passport photograph for her primary six pupils, for their common entrance examination. The photographer charges her N50 per pupil.
The headmistress gets back to her school and asks the primary six teacher to inform each of her pupils to get N150 from their parents for the passport photograph.
The primary six teacher asks her pupils to get N200 each from their parents for the passport photograph.
A primary six pupil gets home and tells her mum that her teacher asked her to pay N300 for the passport photograph.
Pupil’s mum tells pupil’s dad that their child’s teacher requested N500 for the passport photograph. Then the pupil’s dad begins to blame President Buhari for the high amount charged for the passport photograph.
THE CHANGE BEGINS WITH YOU.
