Man City vs Liverpool: Michael Owen drops prediction

Former Liverpool striker, Michael Owen in a latest statement has dropped his prediction on the biggest game in the Premier League this week between Manchester City and title champion, Liverpool, IgbereTV reports.

Owen said that Manchester City will have the edge when they take on the Reds in tonight’s Premier League fixture.

According to Owen, Pep Guardiola will intend to deliver a message to the Reds that they will challenge them for next season’s Premier League title by beating them at the Etihad’s Stadium.

Man City were defeated 2-1 by Chelsea in their last fixture, while Liverpool thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0.

“Liverpool were at their prolific best on Wednesday when they tore Crystal Palace apart, and I think every fan in the country would have to accept that they thoroughly deserve to be champions,” Owen wrote in his column for BetVictor.

“I am sure that the players would have preferred to win it on the field of play, but they can now relax a little and enjoy their final seven games of the season.

“With Liverpool already champions and Man City still playing with Cups on their mind, this is a difficult one to call.”

“However, I think the fact that Man City’s season is not yet over may give them the edge, and I expect them to deliver a message to Liverpool that they’ll be right there alongside them again next season.”

The kick-off time for the match is scheduled at 8:15 pm.
