The Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Abia State, Professor Gregory Ibe, has empathised with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu after he tested positive for coronavirus.
In a letter seen by IGBERE TV, personally signed by Prof. Ibe, stated that God will remember the labours of love which Ikpeazu has shown especially in this season of the novel Coronavirus.
He noted that the unfortunate development underscores the level of personal sacrifice which Ikpeazu is willing to bring bear on the productive stewardship he is rendering in Abia state.
Prof. Ibe further prayed to God to visit Governor Ikpeazu with divine restoration of health.
The letter reads in parts ;
“I received with strong emotions news about the positive outcome of one out of the many coronavirus tests your voluntarily subjected yourself to, as a way of reaffirming your earlier decision to lead the state‘s onslaught against the dreaded COVID-19 disease from the front.”
“This unfortunate development, however underscores the level of personal sacrifice you are willing to bring bear on the productive stewardship you are rendering in Abia state.”
“Therefore as you courageously go through this trying time, let me reassure you of the empathy and solidarity of our people, who have asked me to inform you that ‘ even in this, we are together’.”
“Consequently, it is my prayer that the good Lord remembers your labors of love, especially in this season, coupled with your fruitful helmsmanship over his dear state, and subsequently visit you with divine restoration of health for ‘with His stripes ye were healed’.”
