A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu, has expressed sadness over the death of the state Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Solomon Ogunji.
In a statement made available to Igbere TV on Wednesday, Kalu said Ogunji’s death was a great loss, not just to the family and the Abia state government, but to people of the state.
“I commiserate with the family, government and people of Abia State over the passing of the state Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Solomon Ogunji,” he said.
Describing the late Commissioner as “a man of integrity who lived his life according to the dictates of good conscience,” the APC chieftain urged the family to accept what happened as the “will of Almighty God.”
While noting that the power over life and death belongs to God alone, and that death is an ultimate end to life on earth, Hon. Mascot Kalu prayed God to grant everyone affected by the death the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“… On behalf of my family – the Uzor Kalus, I pray that the Almighty God will receive the soul of the departed, and comfort all that mourn him,” the statement added.
