Former President Goodluck Jonathan has joined the host of leaders in the country to celebrate with Muslim faithful for this year’s Eid-el-fitr celebration.

Jonathan in a statement on Sunday said he celebrates with the Muslim Ummah on this joyous occasion of Eid-el-fitr.

He said, “I pray for Allah’s continual grace upon your homes and His healing upon our land. May the Almighty Allah accept all your acts of worship and reward you with peace and hope. Barka Da Sallah”

Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu also sent a message on behalf of his wife and entire family to Muslims on the occasion of this year’s EidUlFitr.

He stated that traditionally, the end of Ramadan comes with fanfare and lots of celebrations with families and friends.

Sanwo-Olu said, ” as we celebrate at home with our families, I want us to remember our health care workers, and thousands of #COVID19 patients who would have loved to be at home to celebrate with their families at this moment.”

To reflect the spirit of the current global pandemic, he implored Lagosians to celebrate moderately with our families.

“It is my prayer that the end of Ramadan brings joy to every Lagosian irrespective of religious inclination,” he added
