A former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the federation, Chief Richard Osuolale Akinjide has passed away.
Akinjide’s death was confirmed to Igbere TV early Tuesday morning by former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode.
Igbere TV gathered that the 88-year-old legal icon died in the early hours of today at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) is said to have been indisposed for about three years.
According to a source close to the family, the remains of the legal luminary has been deposited at a morgue.
Akinjide was a Minister of Education in the first republic, during the government of Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa and Minister for Justice in the second republic, during the administration of President Shehu Shagari.
