The Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, Mallam Abba Kyari, is dead, Igbere TV reports.
His death was announced in a statement issued on Saturday by presidential spokesmen, Mr. Femi Adesina.
He said Kyari, who had tested positive to coronavirus, died of the disease on Friday.
“The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment,” Adesina said.
The presidential spokesman added that “funeral arrangements” for the late Kyari would be announced soon.
