Seyi Makinde sends Easter message to the people of Oyo state

As Nigerian Christians join their counterparts around the world to celebrate Easter, which signifies the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has sent message to the people in the state.

Seyi Makinde noted that during Easter, Christians are reminded about the basis of their faith in the power of the resurrection.

He said, “And at this time, when the world is thrown into turmoil, we have faith, the assurance of things yet unseen. We believe.”

Makinde stressed that the partial lockdown in Oyo State as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic means that some people are unable to provide for their families as they used to. He said that the lockdown can also take a toll on mental and spiritual well-being as a result of social distancing.

He, however, assured that his administration will continue to prioritise the people’s needs.

Makinde said, “And just as Jesus rose on the third day, we will rise out of this, stronger and more determined. May our faith in the power of the resurrection, sustain us through the season. Stay home, stay safe.”
