Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, on Friday, declared free cooking gas to Abians in order to cushion the effect of the deadly Coronavirus in the State.
Governor Ikpeazu who made this known in a statement made available to Igbere TV by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Chris Ezem, also thanked Dr. Basil Ogbuanu, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Second Coming Nigeria Limited, Umuahia, for the donation.
He urged interested Abians to visit Second Coming Gas Plant at Ahieke Ndume adjacent to Goat Market along Lodu Ndume Road, Umuahia with maximum of 8kg cylinder per person for refilling of their cooking gas.
The statement reads,
“The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD. on behalf of Government and good people of Abia (God’s own) State heartily appreciates Dr. Basil Ogbuanu, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Second Coming Nigeria Limited, Umuahia, for donating 35,000 litres of cooking gas valued at N5.5million in support of Abia State Government in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic in the state.”
“Government therefore, requests interested Abians to visit Second Coming Gas Plant at Ahieke Ndume adjacent to Goat Market along Lodu Ndume Road, Umuahia with maximum of 8kg cylinder per person for refilling of cooking gas and this must be done only within the lock down grace period ending Sunday, April 12, 2020 at 2pm.”
“All interested persons must wear their face mask and there must not be more than 10persons at a time in the premises and should maintain social distance.”
