Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu has directed for immediate shut down of Ogbete Main Market.
Ugwuanyi gave the order in a statement forwarded to Igbere TV on Wednesday by his Commissioner for Information.
According to him, “this was the fallout of the visit by the combined team of State Government officials led by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and heads of security agencies in the State who were at the market to ascertain compliance with Government’s order closing markets and borders.”
“Following the non-compliance by traders and the urgent need to start the fumigation of the market, the State Government has ordered the immediate closure of the market, including adjoining sections and Akwata,” he added.
