A former minister of Education, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili has berated President Muhammadu Buhari for the way and manner in which he’s handling the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria.
In a series of tweets sighted by Igbere TV on Thursday, the former presidential candidate described the president’s decision to communicate with Nigerians mainly via tweets as ‘profoundly pitiful’.
Oby lambasted the president for his ‘opaque leadership’ at this time of national crisis.
“You are disrespecting citizens of this country with your opaque leadership at this time of national crisis,” she wrote.
“Your conduct earns you a permanent thumbs down.
“You may be in office but definitely not in power, Mr President.”
Oby isn’t alone, as several people have been calling out the president for not addressing the nation regarding his health status and the situation at the Aso Villa.
Yesterday, the hashtag #WhereIsBuhari trended on Twitter.
