14 new cases of the dreaded Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been recorded in Nigeria, Igbere TV reports.
While 2 cases were confirmed in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, 12 cases were confirmed in Lagos state.
According to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), “of the 14, 6 were detected on a vessel, 3 are returning travellers into Nigeria and 1 is close contact of a confirmed case.”
Igbere TV, however, observed that 4 cases were not explained, raising suspicion that it may be connected to top government officials.
Earlier today, Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, announced that an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari had tested positive to the virus. He, was, however, silent on the identity.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria, 3 patients have successfully been treated and discharged, with only 1 death recorded in Abuja.
Currently, the disease has spread to nine different states in Nigeria, including Rivers, Edo, Ekiti, Oyo, Ogun, Bauchi, Osun, Lagos and the FCT.
