The Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has tested negative to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Igbere TV reports.
A copy of the test result exclusively obtained by Igbere TV on Thursday, indicates that there was “no evidence of COVID-19 infection.”
Igbere TV gathered that the governor took the test following the news that Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state had tested positive.
Diri may have come in close contact with Governor Mohammed and other governors at the last Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) meeting.
He was in February sworn in as Governor of Bayelsa state following a Supreme Court judgment that sacked David Lyon of the APC.
