Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has ordered the immediate closure of all entry points into the state, including land and waterways, IgbereTV reports.
The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, stated yesterday that entry and exit by any vehicle would be subjected to health check of all passengers.
To prevent avoidable delays, which may extend to preventive quarantining, Fanwo added that persons with any disease symptoms similar to COVID-19, including elevated temperatures, should have a medical report from a reputable hospital/medical practitioner explaining their condition before venturing through the state.
He maintained that the state government’s directive shutting all educational institutions in the state, from Monday, March 23, 2020, would remain until further notice. He said the Kogi State COVID-19 Squadron Committee inaugurated on Monday would enforce compliance with these preventive measures.
