Coronavirus: Nigerian Gov, Who Came In Contact With Atiku's Son, Goes On Self-Isolation

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has gone into self-isolation after he had contact with the son of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who tested positive to coronavirus.

Igbere TV had reported that a son of the former Vice President tested positive to the pandemic on Sunday and had since been evacuated to the hospital in Abuja.

A statement obtained by Igbere TV issued by the governor’s media adviser, said Mohammed and Atiku’s son boarded the same international flight, and even shook hands.

The governor’s adviser, however, noted that the governor has not shown any symptom of the disease but would remain in isolation to prevent any possible spread of the virus.

“Currently, the blood sample of the governor has been taken and is undergoing a clinical test.

“For the period of the clinical testing, the governor and his entourage will remain in isolation pending the outcome of the clinical result,” the governor’s aide added.
