Sanusi Lamido Receives An Award From Nigerian University After His Dethronement

IgbereTV reports that just hours after his dethronement as the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is set to receive an honorary doctorate degree from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

According to IgbereTV reports, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Charles Esimone, who made the announcement, revealed that the chairperson of Innoson Motors, Innocent Chukwuma, and other notable Nigerians would also be honoured at its convocation ceremony scheduled to hold between March 9 and March 13, 2020.

Esimone said that the selected personalities would be conferred with honorary doctorate degrees for their contributions to education and society.

Esimone said a total of 2, 821persons would receive post-graduate honours including 339 doctorate degrees while 6, 750 would be awarded their degrees at the ceremony.

The Kano State government, on Monday, dethroned Sanusi as the Emir of Kano over alleged insubordination, refusal to attend official meetings and breach of Kano Emirate Law.
