According to IgbereTV report, the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan led a delegation of dignitaries to the funeral mass held in honour of Senator Ignatius Dantong Longjan. The event took place at St. Louis Catholic Church, Jos, Plateau State.
The funeral mass was officiated by the Archbishop of Abuja Catholic Diocese, Most Reverend Ignatius Kaigama.
Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege stated that Longjan lived and exemplified love and unity and more than anything, he sought for a peaceful Plateau and by extension, a peaceful Nigeria.
Omo-Agege added that he was at peace with everybody and we will remember him for his sterling attributes for a long time to come. The Senate will sorely miss him but we will build on his legacies.
Among dignitaries present at the mass were the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Idris Wase; Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong; Deputy Governor, Sonni Tyoden, Senators Rochas Okorocha, Philip Aduda, Uche Ekwunife, Haliru Jika and Aisha Dahiru Ahmed.
