According to IgbereTV reports, it disclosed that as one of the outcomes of the recent National Security Council meeting presided over by the President Muhammadu Buhar, he asked VP Yemi Osinbajo to chair a review of Presidential Committee on Small Arms & Light Weapons’ report in order to develop clear cut strategies to curb the proliferation of small arms in the country.
However, a statement the Osinbajo’s spokesperson, Laolu Akande on Monday revealed, the VP chaired a meeting on the matter with relevant ministers, security chiefs and members of the Committee in attendance developing clear cut strategies to control the proliferation problems- which actually fuels insurgencies in NE and other security worries.
