The All Progressives Congress, APC, has moved to suspend the current Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Sampson Uchechukwu Ogah, Igbere TV has learnt.
A close source and a bigwig in the party’s national affairs who spoke with Igbere TV on condition of anonymity revealed that Ogah will be suspended if found guilty of the accusation levelled against him that he truncated the chances of the party during the 2019 Governorship election in Abia State.
According to him, “yes, it’s true that the party is moving to suspend him (Ogah) over anti party activities.”
“But for now, investigation is still going on to ascertain the roles he played during the 2019 Governorship election”.
“For now, we don’t want to go public over this issue because this is a party affair, he added”.
*HOW TROUBLE STARTED*
Trouble started for Ogah when Prince B.B Apugo, a member of BOT of the All Progressives Congress, APC, accused him of being used by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to truncate the chances of the party in Abia State during the Governorship election.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Igbere TV correspondent, Apugo said Ikpeazu bought Ogah’s APC Guber Form.
According to him, “the truth remains that we had no candidate, the candidate that stood for us, Uche Ogah, was just a makeup. He did not come to contest election; in fact before the election, he called and told me that it would be better to leave the governorship seat for Okezie Ikpeazu. It was from that time that I kept myself off him.”
“It was a clear game that Ikpeazu played with the seven APC governorship aspirants; he bought the forms for all of them. Well, that is by the way because we are not going to compare the past with what we are looking forward to get in the next election if God permits.”
*OGAH’S REACTION OVER THE ACCUSATION*
Dr. Sampson Uchechukwu Ogah has, however, denied the accusation levelled against him by Chief Apugo.
Ogah, who is the current Minister of State for Mines and Steel, was APC Governorship candidate in 2019 election accused Apugo of equally betraying the party during the election.
He said Chief Apugo made some money from Alhaji Atiku Abubakar while Atiku was Vice President and, as such, his loyalty has remained with Atiku.
He noted that this is the reason he(Apugo) worked for Atiku of PDP in the 2019 election in Abia as against the candidate of his presumed Party, which is President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking through his SSA on Special Duties, Ogah said Chief Apugo has shown that he suffering from amnesia which is why he (Apugo) has diminished from reasoning like an adult to a kid.
He noted that Dr. Ogah is so busy reviving a sector that our dear President appointed him to work upon and is too focused to join issues with a yesterday’s spent force like BB Apugo.
