FG reacts to the increases in Prices of Protective and Hygiene Products

Following the sharp increase in the price of protective and hygiene products like hand sanitisers, face masks and others owing to the confirmation of corona virus in Nigeria, the federal government through the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commissiom FCCPC has reacted to the situation.

The statement released by the FCCPC  described the situation of price gouging, unreasonable and arbitrary increases in prices of protective and hygiene Products on Account of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) concerns as exploitation of citizens and is against the law.

The commission disclosed it would fall back on the law to fight against those that are exploiting consumers as it urged consumers to make reports of such cases.
