3 Yahoo Boys, Female Native Doctor Burnt Alive Over Alleged Murder Of SS3 Student In Edo

IgbereTV reports that four persons were burnt to death by an angry mob over the alleged murder of a young girl for ritual in Otuo, Owan East local government area of Edo state.

According to IgbereTV reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday.

IgbereTV learnt that the four victims were said to be involved in the gruesome murder of a Senior Secondary School 3 student on Sunday night for ritual purpose at Ikhuera quarters of Otuo.

The three middle-aged boys were said to have committed the criminal act in connivance with another woman said to be a native doctor and after killing her, severed her head from her body for ritual purpose.

It was gathered that the dead girl’s neighbour had, in disguised, sent her on an errand to get him a sachet of cold water when she met her untimely death.

The girl, whose name could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, was said to have been beheaded after she returned to the man’s room to deliver the sachet water.

The bubble was said to have burst when the girl’s parents could not find their daughter and they raised an alarm over her sudden disappearance.

However, the alleged culprits in an attempt to dump the lifeless body of the SSS3 student at a nearby bush in the early hours of Monday were caught red-handed by eagle-eyed residents.

They were said to have confessed to the crime soon after they were apprehended by youths and elders of the community.

The death of the young girl, who was a student of Azama College Otuo, was said to have resulted in a revolt by the youths of the community during which several houses belonging to the suspects were razed in the town.

Two of the boys and the female native doctor were burnt alive at popular Women Centre (hall) after they were dragged to the location in the watchful eyes of milling crowd while the third suspect was traced to his farm.

Edo State Commissioner of Police Mr Lawal Jimeta, when contacted last night, confirmed the incident.

He said the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Otuo Police Division had briefed the Command about the ugly incident, adding that operatives of the State Criminal Investigative Department (SCID) are carrying out a thorough investigation on the matter.
