A renowned Nigerian philanthropist and 2019 Man of the Year, Dr. Godwin Maduka has saved a life of wrongly diagnosed patient and also introduced a program on spine and pain medical cases for Ndị Anambra.
Recall that Dr. Maduka won the 2019 Man of Year award at Igbere TV Leadership Excellence Awards held at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.
Igbere TV reports that the US based Billionaire Medical Doctor, and MD Las Vegas Pain Institute and Medical Center in Neveda USA, resolved to introduce the Medical outreach Program in April 2020.
According to him, the medical outreach will be held during the 2020 Easter celebration in Anambra state.
He made this commitment recently following an incident at the Owerri airport.
According to Dr. Godwin who is a Professor in Anesthesiology, he narrated that he was moved to introduced this program in Nigeria after his encounter with a man at the airport who who confided in him that he was going to India for a Spinal surgery.
Still describing the ordeal of the man he met, Dr. Godwin noted that he knew the man does not need proposed surgery as recommended by India medical report. He took the man to his medical facility in Las Vegas, where he administered free adequate treatment to the patient who eventually got better without surgery as against the India medical prescription which lots of Nigerians are presently victimized and deceived to engage. Stressing that the treatment as recommended by the India hospital would not have only cost the patient a fortune, but might also result in the loss of the patient’s life as it was wrongly diagnosed.
Dr. Godwin stated emphatically that the he was happy to have been used By God to save the life of the fellow from possible medical derailment, noting that many Nigerians sought Medical attention without proper guidance. However, the program according to the Dr. Maduka will be open and accessible to “Ndi Anambra” and that the initiative will serve as an avenue to train domestic doctors on spine cases and thereby enthrone sustainable health/spine care and management in Anambra state and across the Southeast region.
Dr. Godwin Maduka has continued to support developments in the South eastern region, especially in Umuchukwu and beyond. His prospective engagements, humanitarian works and supportive efforts has kept him in the spotlight of recommendations from the people as one who is more than able to lead the state through progressive developments. He seems to have accepted the call for Ndi Anambra to throw hit hat in the gubernatorial race of 2021 election in Anambra state.
