According to IgbereTV reports, Delta state Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa in a latest statement on Friday has urged the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to apply tougher measures to tackle the adulteration of food and pharmaceuticals in the country.
Governor Okowa, who was represented by his deputy, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, disclosed this when the Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, came on a courtesy visit to the Government House in Asaba.
“Establishing an investigative centre in Asaba will help to curb the prevalence of fake goods and medications. This administration acknowledges the vital importance of NAFDAC and will deepen its collaboration with the agency,” Otuaro said.
