Just In! Senate names 56 members to handle alterations of the 1999 Constitution

IgbereTv reports that the Nigeria senate on Thursday under the leadership of the President of The Senate, His Excellency, Dr Ahmad Lawan PhD, has constituted a 56-member Constitution Review Committee to handle all Bills seeking alterations to the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege was appointed Chairman of the Committee and he disclosed that himself and his colleagues “will be working with Nigerians to make sure all expectations are met and all interests are catered for. The composition of the committee has all Principal officers as members; one Senator from each State of the Federation and two Senators selected to represent each geo-political zone in the country. “
