The crisis rocking the Edo State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) got messier on Wednesday with the demolition of a hotel belonging to a chieftain of the party, Tony Kabaka, by the state government.
Igbere TV gathered that the demolition was allegedly on the orders of Governor Godwin Obaseki, who has been at loggerheads with some chieftains of his party over his second term bid.
Kabaka, a strong critic of Obaseki and an ally of Adams Oshiomhole, APC national chairman, had openly disagreed with the governor while withdrawing his support for the government.
Although the matter is still in court with an existing injunction restraining the government from carrying out the actions, caterpillars and policemen were, however, sighted by Igbere TV demolishing the hotel.
Contacted, the state government claimed it carried out the act because the hotel was built on the road. The claim was, however, debunked by Kabaka who claimed he was being fought for withdrawing support for Obaseki.
