Man Utd ready to spend £67 million on new midfielder

Igbere TV reports that English Premier League side, Manchester United are finally ready to sign Portugal international, Bruno Fernandes.

Further reports revealed that the Red Devils are to pay up for the deal that could cost them 80 million euros (£67 million, $88 million) in order to see that Fernandes leave Sporting Lisbon.

“Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached an agreement with Sporting Clube de Portugal for the transfer of Bruno Fernandes. The deal is subject to a medical and the agreement of personal terms,” United said in a statement on Wednesday.

Prior to this Fernandes was linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window but then Man Utd weren’t ready to pay the required fee stated by Lisbon.

The Portuguese side also confirmed the deal as it revealed that the deal is worth an initial fee of 55 million euros with another 25 million euros in performance-related add-ons.

“Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them. Thanks, captain,” Sporting tweeted alongside a video of some of Fernandes’s finest moments for the club.

Following the injury rate of Paul Pogba, Man Utd need a new midfielder badly.
