According to IgbereTV, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday visited the Amu plank market in Mushin area of the state where there was a recent fire outbreak over the weekend.
Sanwo-Olu in an assessment of the situation of things at the market stated that the event was unfortunate but he was thankful to God that no life was lost.
The Lagos State Governor, however, promised to support the traders affected by the fire and get them back on their feet.
He said, “I was at Amu plank market in Mushin for an assessment of the damage and material loss caused by the fire. The extent is unfortunate but we are thankful that no life was lost. We will support all the affected traders and ensure that they get back on their feet.”
“I also assured them that government will not take over the market but we will work to see how the re-construction will be quickly done so that business activities can resume fully. There are so many families affected by this; we will help them rebuild their lives,” Sanwo-Olu added.
