OSUSU ROAD: Residents commend Governor Ikpeazu, says life gradually returning to the area

The 2.4 kilometre Osusu road in Aba is one of the strategic roads currently receiving attention by the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu administration

According to report, the 2.4 kilometre Osusu road has remained impassable for the past 10 years not until the administration of Governor okezie Ikpeazu awarded the road for construction in 2018.

Baring their minds on the road some residents and traders along the road including Miss Eucharia Ibezim Felicia Diribe and Mr Chinaemerem Nwokedi who were full of appreciation to the state government for the quality of the road construction which is being done with cement pavement technology, adding that life is gradually returning in the area.

Also lending their voice, Mr Martin Akuma and Mrs Eucharia Okafor said that Governor okezie Ikpeazu has written his name in gold as the first Governor to use cement pavement technology in road construction in the state, a technology only seen in riverine areas, and made a case for the constitution of a task force to apprehend those in the habit of dumping refuse into the drains. 

Conducting newsmen round the road, the contractor handling the project and managing Director Eckleen Integrated Services Mr Uzoma Onuoha said that the concrete pavement technology stage will soon be concluded to be followed by a seven centimetre asphalt, adding that the Governor has remained committed in realizing the project before the next rainy season. 

The contractor while assuring of quality job, thanked the obviously enthusiastic residents of  Osusu for being cooperative to the company,assured that the road would be handed over to the state government for commissioning by the first quarter of this year.
