IgbereTV reports that, on Tuesday, the residents of the TarkwaBay, a waterfront community in Lagos government were asked by government to vacate their community.
According to one of the residents who preferred anonimity there’s no warning, no eviction notice, no relocation plan or any compensation for resettlement. They were asked to just pack and leave.
He further added that they have been used and dumped by the government who allocated Polling Units in their region for registration and voting in the 2019 general elections. Their votes were counted as INEC recognised them in the electoral map.
He said the government showed no humanity nor compassion to them and that many of them are lost on what next to do.
