Spokesman of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu has congratulated Senator Hope Uzodinma on his victory at the Supreme Court.
Uzodinma was on Tuesday declared the dully-elected governor of Imo State following a Supreme Court judgment which sacked the administration of Emeka Ihedioha, Igbere TV reports.
In a statement sent to Igbere TV which he personally signed, Kalu who represents Bende Federal Constituency, said the people of Imo state would now enjoy dividends of focused and efficient leadership.
“I heartily congratulate Senator Hope Uzodinma on his affirmation by the Supreme Court as the Imo State Governor-elect and celebrate with the people of Imo as they prepare to enjoy the dividends of focused and efficient leadership”, he said.
While hailing the judgement, the lawmaker said, “This peaceful resolution of the various gubernatorial aspirations by the judiciary is indeed testament to the growth of our democracy.”
“I urge the governor-elect to remember that while the hopes and future of Imo State now depends on his vision, it is a burden that demands the joint effort of all Imolites irrespective of political and other affiliations.”
The Abia born federal lawmaker wished Senator Hope Uzodinma, a member of his own party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), a successful tenure in office.
