Men of the Nigerian Police have surrounded a property belonging to the family of former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The property has in recent days been a subject of controversy between the former Senate President and the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Prior to this development, Igbere TV had reported that the state House of Assembly deliberated on a petition against the ownership of the expanse of land which was reportedly not paid for, prompting the call for the executive to take over the property.
The matter has also triggered political arguments between the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State and the state government.
The Government officially announced revocation of the land last week, a development that attracted a loaded response from Saraki.
As at the time of filing this report, the Bukola Saraki family is yet to issue any formal statement in reaction to the development.
