Senator Smart Adeyemi has been sworn in as Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the ninth National Assembly.
Igbere TV reports that Adeyemi of the Progressives Congress (APC), was sworn in on Wednesday at Plenary by Clerk of the Senate, Nelson Ayewoh.
His swearing-in comes three days after he defeated Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the rerun election held Saturday.
Senator Adeyemi is returning to the Senate about five years after he lost the seat to Senator Melaye at the 2015 general elections.
