Nigeria Working Tirelessly On Research In Robotics, Artificial Intelligence - Onu

The Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu has said that Nigeria is working tirelessly to bridge the gaps in the shortfall of research in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

One stated this when he received the out-going Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Carlos Trejo Sosa who paid him a courtesy call in his office on Tuesday in Abuja, reports Igbere TV.

According to him, Nigeria’s contribution to peace and prosperity of other African countries can only be enhanced if science, technology and innovation is given maximum priority in the scheme of things.

He told the envoy that Nigeria was the first African nation to launch a space programme with 6 Nigerian satellites in space, adding that Nigeria is working tirelessly to bridge the gaps in the shortfall of research in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

The minister recalled his visit to Cuba in 2018 and said the visit was very rewarding to Nigeria in the area of research, Innovation and biotechnology development, adding that one of the fallouts of the visit was the close working partnership between the National Biotechnology Development Agency and Cuba.

He said the scope of this bilateral relationship would be soon be widened when the Nigerian Academy of Science, the Academy of Engineering and other Academies join the train by forging close ties with their counterparts in Cuba.

Responding, the Ambassador thanked the Minister for his friendship and partnership with Cuba in the area Science and Technology.
