IgbereTV reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has presented the Certificate of Return to Kogi State Governor-Elect, Yahaya Bello.
INEC’s Returning Officer for the Kogi State election, Prof. Ibrahim Garuba presented the certificate to Bello at a ceremony held at its office in Lokoja, the state capital, on Thursday.
On Monday, INEC declared Bello of the All Progressives Congress, APC, winner of the governorship election in the state.
Prof. Garuba declared Bello winner after polling 406,222 votes to defeat his closest rival, Musa Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 189,704 votes.
Also, Yahaya Bello announced the news on Twitter. He wrote:
Earlier today I received my Certificate of Return from @inecnigeria headquarters, Lokoja, along with my reliable Deputy, Edward Onoja. Thank you Kogi State. We will not let you down.
