IgbereTV reports that Dino Melaye, the PDP Candidate for the Kogi West Senatorial rerun election in Kogi State has stormed the Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to express his dissatisfaction on the conduct of the Saturday’s election in which Dino Melaye had reported incidences of violence and malpractice against him, his party-PDP and supporters.
According to results from INEC, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Smart Adeyemi, scored a total of 80,118 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, Senator Dino Melaye, scored 59,548 votes.
Dino Melaye provided Video evidences of his claims together with a petition to the INEC National Commissioner and Secretary saying that the elections should be cancelled as he claims it was marred by violence and malpractices
Dino Melaye posted the news on Twitter. He wrote:
National commissioner of INEC Festus Okoye and Secretary of INEC recieving my petition today with 21 video CD’s documentatry evidence.
Helicopter election can not stand.
