The Speaker Of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon.Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, (Ikuku) on Monday, said the oversight function of the House is not to witch- hunt the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
The Speaker made this known when Ikpeazu presented the 2020 Budget at the Floor of the House on Monday.
He noted that the oversight function of the House is intended to help Ikpeazu achieve an appreciable percentage budget implementation”
He said : “Suffice it to say that the house will not renegade in her oversight Function and consequently will use every tool available to her to bring to Justice anyone who will sabotage the effort of your administration”
“I want to state Categorically Clear Your Excellency, that the oversight function of this House is not and will not be a witch-hunt, it is intended to help you achieve an appreciable percentage budget implementation”
“The 7th Abia House of Assembly therefore pledges her unalloyed support to your administration and promise to give the appropriation Bill an accelerated hearing and speedy passage into law”
