Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State, and current Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal were on Wednesday spotted with some Appeal Court Judges, Igbere TV can authoritatively report.
According to a reliable source within Tambuwal’s entourage, the Governor spent most part of the day in Owerri with Ihedioha trying to meet with the Appeal Court Judges to ensure that all the candidates of All Progressives Congress in the 2019 general elections are defeated at the Appeal Court.
Our source further revealed that the Judges handling the Senatorial Appeals snubbed both Governors but they (Tambuwal and Ihdioha) met with the judges handling Gubernatorial Appeal filed by Senator Hope Uzodimma.
Though details of the meeting was not revealed, it is believed to be linked to 2023 permutations.
Igbere TV recalls that the APC candidate in the Imo State governorship election, Sen. Hope Uzodinma had appealed the verdict of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which in a unanimous ruling affirmed the victory of Governor Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Uzodinma, in his notice of appeal filed on September 24, 2019 in the Court of Appeal, Owerri with petition No: EPT/GOV/IM/08/2019, claimed that the tribunal’s “judgment was against the weight of evidence.”
He also prayed the court to sustain his appeal, set aside the tribunal’s verdict, order the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as third respondent, as well as withdraw and issue to him the Certificate of Return issued to Ihedioha.
Meanwhile, our competent source who doesn’t to be mentioned said both Governors later travelled by road to Portharcourt to see Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
And later, the three Governors travelled from Portharcourt to Bayelsa before Ihedioha and Tambuwal took a flight to Abuja.
Our source said : “As I’m speaking with you right now, they are trying their best to see that All Progressives Congress candidates are defeated at the Appeal court”.
“They moved from PH to Bayelsa by road before flying to Abuja.
“They got to Abuja by 9:30pm and will spend the night trying to lobby more Judges to favour the People’s Democratic Party at the Appeal Court,” the source told Igbere TV correspondent.
