The last has not been heard of the uproar stirred by a recent statement credited to the former senatorial candidate of APGA in Abia central, Chidi Onyeukwu Ajaegbu in which he alleged that a chieftain of the party in the state, Sir Chikwe Udensi was used to thwart the chances of the party to win the governorship election.
Ajaegbu during a recent press conference to mark his exit from the party had attributed weak leadership at the top echelon of the party to its dwindling fortunes, saying Victor Oye was returned as the national chairman of the party through a fraudulent means.
Reacting to the allegation in a chat with IGBERR TV and ABN TV on Monday, Sir Chikwe Udensi expressed disappointment over the allegation that he is being sponsored by the PDP, insisting that he is not broke to the extent of working against the interest of his party, adding that PDP has nothing to offer him.
“Chidi Ajaegbu knows that he has always been in PDP. He is a PDP stalwart. Go and check the records, he is being drafted by the PDP to destroy APGA. He came to the party and gave returning officers money fraudulently to leave the procedure and moved the primary election from the agreed venue to Alex Otti’s house” he said.
Describing Ajaegbu as lacking character and competence, Udensi said Ajaegbu is an unknown figure in the party and also an empty rat.
He said he is not surprise that Ajaegbu has left the party, adding that he could not compete favourably in the party.
“He had no funds to compete even with the unpopular T.A Orji in Abia central. After he failed, he came back to accuse us of causing his failure. He said he has left APGA, was he ever in APGA? Go and ask the Executives of APGA. He was a fraudulent crook brought in by Alex Otti to destroy APGA” he alleged.
The APGA chieftain accused Ajaegbu of pitching tent with PDP immediately he failed in his senatorial ambition in the 2019 election, saying Ajaegbu campaigned for Ikpeazu.
Udensi said the frosty relationship between Ikpeazu and Ajaegbu now is because Ikpeazu did not pay to Ajaegbu the amount they agreed on after he won, adding that Ajaegbu is hungry and frustrated.
Udensi expressed willingness to lend Ajaegbu some money if approached in a bid to rehabilitate him.
He called on Ajaegbu not to be broke and arrogant at the same time, describing it as dangerous.
He insisted that PDP and Ikpeazu do not have as much as he does and therefore cannot offer him anything. He called on Ikpeazu to go and pay salaries and pensions in the state to save the people from misery.
He described Ikpeazu’s government as fraudulent and wicked, accusing him of not being able to complete a single bridge in 5 years, urging him to take a cue from Ebonyi governor.
Udensi challenged anyone with a trace of transaction between him and the PDP to tender it, insisting that Ajaegbu is an impersonator and never a member of the APGA.
