President Muhammadu Buhari wrote a letter to the Senate to request the approval of the payment of N10.069billion as settlement of promissory note to the Kogi State Government, Igberetv reports.
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan read Buhari’s letter of request on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday.
Lawan said that the president’s letter is “requesting for the resolution of the National Assembly on the issuance of N10.069billion for promissory note programme of Kogi State and a Bond issuance to settle inherited debt.”
The Senate President, however referred the Executive Communication to the Committee on Local and Foreign Debt to report in two weeks.
