Igberetv reports that the voters’ register for the November 16 gubernatorial elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States has been released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
So far, there are 2,467,088 registered voters for the Bayelsa and Kogi governorship elections.
INEC said 1,646,350 registered voters are for Kogi state, while 867,088 are for Bayelsa state.
The commission also said that a total number of 1,485,828 of the registered voters have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Kogi state.
On Monday in Lokoja, Kogi State,
INEC’s National Commissioner in charge of Kogi, Nasarawa and Kwara, Mohammed Haruna, presented the voters’ register to the 23 political parties registered to participate in the election. He said that INEC’s official Register of Voters used for the 2019 general election will be used for the November governorship election.
Also, In Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, the INEC National Commissioner supervising Bayelsa, Edo and Rivers states, Mrs May Agbamuche-Mbu, presented the voters’ register to the 45 political parties contesting in the election. Agbamuche-Mbu said that the voters’ register will enable eligible voters to check their details and know the location of their polling units. She further instructed the parties to submit names of their party agent on or before 2nd November, 2019, as there would be no extension of date.
